Through the sacrament of Baptism, we are welcomed into the Church and become members of the Body of Christ. As we are baptized, the Holy Spirit inspires us to answer Christ's call to live a holy life. We are called to follow the light of Christ and trust in his teachings. With a deepening love for Christ, we offer our hearts to Him.
To schedule your child's Baptism, please contact Cari Craver or complete the Baptism Request Form at least one month in advance. Participation in the preparation program is required before your first child Baptized at Crescent Parishes.
Godparents
It is a longstanding practice and a requirement of Church law that every new Christian must have at least one sponsor, traditionally referred to as a godparent, who assists the parents in presenting an infant for baptism. A sponsor's role also includes helping the baptized person live a Christian life in accordance with the promises made during baptism, and fulfilling their obligations as a member of the Church.
In order to ensure that new Christians receive adequate support and guidance, both Church law and our diocese have established guidelines for selecting godparents. These requirements are in place to ensure that the godparent is able to offer the necessary support, including prayer and assistance as the new Christian prepares for other sacraments and strives to live out their faith throughout their life.

Baptism of Adults
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults or OCIA is the spiritual process through which adults enter into and receive the Sacraments of Initiation. OCIA outlines the steps for the formation of catechumens, bringing their conversion to the faith to a greater maturity. It helps them respond more deeply to God's gracious initiative in their lives and prepares them for union with the Church community. This process is meant to form them into the fullness of the Christian life and to become disciples of Jesus.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation/Penance is a profound gateway to receiving God's incredible gifts of forgiveness and peace. Through this sacred practice, we encounter the boundless mercy of God, experiencing the transformative power of His grace. Penance becomes an immersive journey, where we are embraced by the gift of divine mercy.
This sacred sacrament not only grants us liberation from the burdens of our sins, but also calls us to embody the same profound compassion and forgiveness that God extends to us, to others. As we engage in confession, we are given a sacred opportunity to not only seek repentance but also to rekindle our friendship with God and reestablish the grace-filled bond that strengthens our journey of faith.

The presence of Jesus in the Eucharist offers nourishment and sustenance for our spiritual journey. During the Eucharistic celebration, the bread and wine undergo a profound transformation, becoming the body and blood of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit and the priest's role as an instrument.
During the Eucharistic Prayer, the priest, acting in the person of Christ, invokes the Holy Spirit to consecrate the bread and wine, recalling the words and actions of Jesus at the Last Supper and His sacrificial act on the Cross. The prayer over the Offerings concludes the preparation and disposes all for the Eucharistic Prayer. The Eucharistic Prayer is the Heart of the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
In the Sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized person is "sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit" and is strengthened for service to the Body of Christ. Confirmation deepens our baptismal life that calls us to be missionary witnesses and disciples of Jesus Christ in our families, neighborhoods, society, and the world. We receive the message of faith in a deeper and more intensive manner with great emphasis given to the person of Jesus Christ, who asked the Father to give the Holy Spirit to the Church for building up the community in loving service.
This sacramental experience enables us to delve deeper into our faith, embracing a richer understanding of His teachings and a more intimate connection with Christ. As we receive the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to actively contribute to the growth and unity of the community, living out our faith with a genuine spirit of love and service.
The Sacrament of Marriage represents a covenant, a profound connection between individuals. The marriage covenant refers to the relationship between husband and wife, a permanent union of persons capable of knowing and loving each other and God.
Through the sacrament of marriage, the couple becomes a tangible embodiment and witness of Christ's profound love for the Church, displaying the beauty and significance of the spousal love that Christ extends to His faithful followers.
Couples who wish to be married in the Church at our Crescent Parishes should contact the Parish Office at least six months prior to your desired date or complete the Wedding Request Form.
Since connection is an important value, the sacrament of marriage is best celebrated in the bride or groom's home parish or the parish to which they already belong. We are joyful for and welcome parishioners who are preparing to be wed! Due to Beacons of Light in the Archdiocese, we can guarantee one of our five churches as the location of the marriage. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a specific location.
During the Sacrament of the Sick the priest offers prayers, lays hands on, and anoints a sick individual with blessed oil. It can be accompanied by the Sacrament of Reconciliation beforehand and followed by the Eucharist.
In moments of illness, injury, impending surgery, or weakened state due to age, our Church provides a profound source of assistance for you. This sacrament grants you the opportunity to experience the divine peace that only God can bestow.
If the recipient endures a different illness or injury, or if the existing illness or condition worsens, the sacrament can be repeated, offering ongoing support and healing.
If you or someone you know is in need of Anointing of the Sick, please contact the Parish Offices.
From the moment of Jesus' conception in the womb of Mary until his Resurrection, he was filled with the Holy Spirit. In biblical language, he was anointed by the Holy Spirit and thus established by God the Father as our high priest. As Risen Lord, he remains our high priest. While all the baptized share in Christ's priesthood, the ministerial priesthood shares this through the Sacrament of Holy Orders in a special way.
Ordination to the priesthood is always a call and a gift from God. Christ reminded his Apostles that they needed to ask the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into the harvest. Those who seek priesthood respond generously to God's call using the words of the prophet, "Here I am, send me" (Is 6:8). This call from God can be recognized and understood from the daily signs that disclose his will to those in charge of discerning the vocation of the candidate.
