March 2025
Over the past few weeks, we have added door access readers to multiple entry points at St. Saviour and Holy Trinity to create a more unified access system across our parishes. One of my goals has been to implement a standardized access system as we move forward with merging, and this is another step in that process. Our ultimate objective remains to install at least one door access panel at every church in our family within the next couple of years.
We also want to inform you that the locks at St. Saviour will be rekeyed in the coming weeks. If you currently have a key, it will no longer work on any exterior doors once this change takes effect. Below are some of the key reasons for this transition:
Cost Efficiency: The cost of traditional keys has increased over the years, with some of our parishes paying up to $20 per key. In contrast, key cards cost an average of $2.50 each, providing significant long-term savings.
Enhanced Security: Losing a master key poses a security risk, as it’s difficult to track who has access to our buildings. A lost key card, however, can simply be deactivated, immediately revoking access. Additionally, we are unsure who currently holds master keys from previous years, so this transition helps us reset and secure our access system.
Convenience for Volunteers and Staff: Many of our volunteers and employees serve at multiple churches within our parish family. With this new system, they will only need one key card for access to all necessary locations.
Automated Scheduling: The new system allows doors to be automatically unlocked for Mass or events, reducing the need for extra trips by staff or volunteers.
Please do not discard your current St. Saviour keys, as they will still be used for interior doors at this time.

Thank you!
