The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “Keep the Dream Alive” Committee is accepting nominations for the 2024 “Keep the Dream Alive” Awards. The 22nd celebration will be held on MLK Day, Monday, January 15, 2024 at the Church of the Resurrection in Bond Hill. The 2024 theme is Creating the Beloved Community. The concept of a beloved community was popularized by Rev. Dr. King, who referred to it as the goal of nonviolence during the Civil Rights era. In a beloved community, redemption and reconciliation replace bitterness and emptiness. Given this theme, we hope to recognize individuals who actively are building Rev. Dr. King’s dream community through the power of love. We encourage nominations of youth/young adults (9th grade – college junior). One honoree from this category will be selected to win $1000 to assist with expenses.
The deadline for nominations is Monday, October 30, 2023.
Nomination and sponsorship forms can be found below as well as at the church entrances.
