Liturgy of Lament

During this season of Lent I invite you to join me on a journey toward healing and wholeness. The Beacons of Light process speaks of an aspirational vibrant community of faith. In our short time together, as Crescent Family of Parishes, we’ve each experienced a glimpse of that vibrancy through worship and fellowship. For this, we praise God who is always in our midst. Yet at the same time we must be very aware that the Beacons of Light process has caused within our communities of faith, anxiety, disorientation, a sense of loss, and at times anger.
 
On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, 7:00 p.m., at St. Saviour, we will celebrate a Liturgy of Lament and Prayer. The Sacrament of Confession will be available before this event from 6:00– 6:45 PM.
 
Throughout the history of God’s people, they have lifted their personal pain and communal hardships to the throne of God. Lament is the language of the suffering. Lament acknowledges that things are not right in the community and the community as an act of faith lovingly raises their “laments” to the God who hears their cries.
 
Come together to acknowledge our lament within the Crescent community and invite God to lead us toward healing and wholeness as we invoke Jesus, the Savior of the world to bring our intercession to the throne of God.
