If you are:
An adult who has never been affiliated with a formal religion
An adult who was baptized in a faith tradition other than Catholicism
An adult who has received some, but not all, of the sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, Reconciliation, or Confirmation
An adult who was raised in another faith and now desires to embrace Catholicism
We extend a warm welcome to our Crescent Parishes. If you are interested in exploring the process of becoming Catholic, we invite you to embark on this journey with us.
The path to becoming Catholic begins with Inquiry. We encourage you to take the initial step by engaging in a simple conversation with us. There is no such thing as reaching out too early or asking too many questions. We understand that the decision to become Catholic is not one to be taken lightly, but rather a process of discernment that involves dialogue, reflection, and prayer.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the framework for a transformative journey that guides you on your own personal faith exploration. During the initial stage, known as the Period of Inquiry, you will have the opportunity to delve deeper into Catholicism, inquire about its teachings, and develop an understanding of what distinguishes a Catholic. Within a small group setting, we will explore topics such as the significance of Jesus Christ, the Mass, the Sacraments, the importance of Sacred Scripture and Tradition, as well as the role of prayer in your daily life. Crescent Parishes implements a year round catechumenate, reach out to us at any time so we can walk this journey with you.
We also offer OCIC for older children who have not yet been baptized.
